French Open Tennis Championship 2010
The French Open is now at an end and we have had a great fortnight at Roland Garros with Rafa Nadal and Francesca Schiavone lifting the trophies over the weekend. Nadal looked awesome on Sunday when he beat Soderling in straight sets to lift his fifth French Open Crown, the win also ensures that Nadal regained the World No.1 ranking from Roger Federer and will head to Wimbledon full of confidence.
The Women's Final was played between Sam Stosur and Francesca Schiavone in an unlikely match up, but in the end it was a fantastic final won by the Italian who played an absolute blinder. She was hardly considered in the betting before the tournament but in the end she was by far the best player over the two weeks and Schiavone was ecstatic to win her first Grand Slam title

French Open Betting Information
The red clay courts of Roland Garros are famed for producing a slower brand of tennis but with long absorbing and exciting rallies and is a surface that quite naturally suits a base line player.
The tournament has been running since 1891, but the Roland Gaross stadium did not start hosting the tournament until 1928. It is a superb French Open Venue and combined with its rich French Open Tennis History, the tournament has become one of the most viewed sporting events in the world today. Tickets for the French Open are much sought after and it pays to book early.
Roger Federer is the current mens champion and he will return this year and once again aiming for his second win at Roland Garros. He will not have it all his own way though with the four-time Champion Rafa Nadal to deal with and if he hits top form then he will be tough to beat. The Women's odds have been given some extra spice with the return of four-time Champion Justine Henin who has come out of retirement and will be looking for number five.
Tennis betting has become a very big business and Nadal will be favourite to win based on his past form at Roland Gaross. His odds can be checked in the French Open Mens Singles Odds. Favourite's for the womens event are Serena Williams but her task to win the crown for the second time seems to be a much tougher ask than that of Nadal’s with the Women's odds looking very competitive once again in 2010. The types of betting markets can looked over on the French Open Betting Guide. This year we have a new facility running with Paddy Power, one of the leading Irish bookmakers who will giving away French Open Free bets before and during the tournament.

Day Fourteen - Joy For Kuznetsova
The Ladies singles final was won in fine style by Svetlana Kuznestsova, the number seven seed. She easily beat favourite and number one seed, Dinara Safina, 6-4, 6-2 to claim her second Grand Slam title. Safina was completely out of sorts compared to the powerhouse player she was in the earlier rounds and has to be content with the runners up spot for the second successive year. It was her third defeat in her third Grand Slam final.
Day Fifteen - Federer Finally Wins French Open
Roger Federer realised his dream today at Roland Garros, when winning the French Open for the first time and in the process becoming the first man since Andre Agassi to have won all four tennis Grand Slams.
It was a magnificent display by Federer, who beat big hitting Swede, Robin Soderling in three straight sets, 6-1, 7-6. 6-4 Soderling has earned his place in the final be beating French Open legend and four time winner, Rafael Nadal in the fourth round, Nikolay Davydenko in the Quarters and Fernando Gonzalez in the semi’s, however he was a shadow of himself in this match, where Federer literally put him to the sword.
Federer, who now has two Grand Slam titles currently, this one and the US Open, had been runner up in the last three years in this tournament to Nadal. In fact he was thrashed in last years final when only winning four games and must have thought that this was his last chance to win. He now joins Pete Sampras as the only man to have won 14 Grand Slams.
